Halflings are small, cheerful, and deceptively dangerous. Standing barely three feet tall, they are easily overlooked by larger races — which suits them perfectly. Halflings possess an almost supernatural connection to the natural world: they can find food where none seems to exist, move through undergrowth without a sound, and vanish from plain sight with a casualness that unnerves even experienced adventurers. They are deeply loyal to those they call friends, and implacably patient with those they call enemies.
Speaking both Common and the lilting dialect of Halfling, they are welcome in most settlements of Aethoril, though their insatiable appetite — a racial quirk known as Increased Consumption Rate — means their food budget is significant for their size. Their racial abilities include Sneak and Forage, making them extraordinary wilderness survivalists and stealth operatives. Natural resistance to Corruption and Disease reflects a constitution as surprisingly robust as their outlook on life.

| Rogue | 15 | 17 | 20 | 21 | 14 | 20 | 15 |
Halflings post the highest WIS of any race, and players take full advantage: Druid is the community’s top pick, pairing class-leading WIS with strong AGI for a surprisingly mobile spellcaster. Cleric follows closely for the same reason, while Rogue remains a perennial favorite thanks to natural synergy with the race’s Sneak ability.
