Ogres are massive, powerful, and possess a cold mercenary pragmatism that makes them both feared and sought after across Aethoril. Standing a full head and shoulders above most races, they are the dominant physical force on any battlefield — their strikes capable of caving in plate armor and sending opponents flying. Though dismissed by the uninformed as simple brutes, Ogres have a long tradition of calculated ruthlessness: they take the job, they complete the job, and they expect to be paid.
Speaking Common and the guttural dialect of Ogrish, Ogres start their journey in Night Harbor but earn a fearsome reputation in Evershade Weald, where they begin as Kill-on-Sight to the local population. Approximately a hundred orc kills are needed to reach trading standing there. Their racial ability, Ogre Smash, channels their immense strength into a devastating targeted blow. A significant natural resistance to Cold offsets a notable vulnerability to Magic — smart Ogres stay out of wizard duels.

Ogres run the highest STR in Aethoril, and the community plays to it directly: Fighter is the clear favorite, pushing STR to 24 and STA to 22 for a frontline that’s nearly impossible to move. Beastmaster ties for top STR with a wilder, pet-driven playstyle, while Shadow Knight is the go-to pick for players who want to mix that brute strength with dark magic.
