Elementalist Starter Quest (Night Harbor)

Part 1 — The Pinwheel (Level 1)

1. Turning in your starter note to Tenebrim Tam at the School of the Fourfold Path admits you into the Elementalist order. He gives you a Fourfold Sash to mark you as a member, plus A Pinwheel, A Box of Elemental Incense, and a Small Velvet Bag for your first task.
2. Explore the school grounds and beyond with the pinwheel in hand — it spins faster the closer you get to a hidden Djinn housed in a nearby object of art (statues and idols). Once it's spinning quickly, /look at the object, then /place incense (or the object's name) to offer incense and receive a pearl.
3. Find the Earthen Pearl from the scarab idol on the wall inside the school, opposite Tenebrim Tam.
4. Find the Aqua Pearl at the covered well south of the school (through the doorway to the right of the scarab idol, down the ramp, then south), from the small jackal idol.
5. Find the Fiery Pearl at the Night Market blacksmithing forge, from a fire beetle statue on the wall.
6. Find the Airy Pearl at the top of the mage tower near the North Gate, from a bird statue on one of the upper ledges.
7. Place all four pearls in the Small Velvet Bag and combine it into a Velvet Bag of Pearls.
8. Return the bag of pearls, the pinwheel, the incense box, and your Fourfold Sash to Tenebrim Tam. He affixes the first seal to your belt, rewarding you with the First Degree Fourfold Sash and a Simple Brass Coin to bring back once you've trained up.

Part 2 — Preparing for the Test

9. When you're ready, return to Tenebrim Tam with the Simple Brass Coin. He asks you to gather 2 Fire Beetle Glands, 2 Bone Chips, 2 Bat Wings, and a Water Flask from around the Night Harbor yards.
10. Turn in the supplies along with your First Degree Fourfold Sash. He reinforces your belt into the Reinforced First Degree Fourfold Sash and sends you to speak with Pedram about the elemental affinity tests.

Part 3 — Elemental Affinity Tests

11. Speak to Pedram, assistant to the Tams, and tell him you're there for the tests. He prepares elemental crystals from your gathered materials.
12. Take the Red Crystal to the training grounds downstairs and use it to summon an angry fire elemental (level 5). Defeat it, loot the Fiery Essence, and return it to Pedram (if you lose, bring back the empty crystal for a replacement).
13. Repeat with the Brown Crystal against an earth elemental for Earthen Essence.
14. Repeat with the Blue Crystal against a water elemental for Watery Essence.
15. Repeat with the Translucent Crystal against an air elemental for Airy Essence.
16. Once all four are complete, Pedram hands you a Note for Tenebrim to deliver.
17. Hand the note to Tenebrim Tam. Choose your elemental affinity by handing him your Reinforced First Degree Fourfold Sash along with the essence matching the element you want to specialize in.
18. He adds a second seal to your belt, rewarding you with the Second Degree Fourfold Sash and a level 4 spell scroll of your chosen element. Any leftover crystals or essences can be traded to Pedram for Crushed Malachite.
