Shadow Knight Starter Quest (Night Harbor)

Overview

New Shadow Knights carry a note from their order to Brazzic Durraim in the Concourse of Souls, who passes them along to Noel Klares and finally to guildmaster Exavius Deathwhisper. Along the way they run errands proving their resolve and are ultimately rewarded with a Gold Trimmed Black Tunic.

Part 1 — Proving Yourself (Level 1)

  1. You start with a Weathered Note directing you to Exavius Deathwhisper in the Concourse of Souls, in the Necropolis District — reached through Sageside toward Saltbreeze Park (if you hit the Tannery, you've gone too far), or via a shortcut through the old cemetery outside Black Feather Bazaar.
  2. Give the note to Exavius Deathwhisper. He warns you that joining his ranks means being tested, and sends you downstairs to the sleeping quarters to find Brazzic.
  3. Give the note to Brazzic Durraim, also in the Concourse of Souls. He hands you a Sealed Scroll and a Black Leather Bag, and sets two tasks: fill the bag with shattered femurs from bone piles in the desert, and deliver the scroll to a man named Noel Klares.
  4. Hunt rotting skeletons in the yard in front of the Concourse of Souls until you loot 6 Shattered Skeleton Femurs, then combine them in the Black Leather Bag to form a Bag of Femurs.
  5. Find Noel Klares on the roof of the Wayfarers Hospice (up through the guard tower, back inside on the second floor, then up the ramp). Nearby guards will assist him if he's pulled too close to them, so it's safer to draw him away first. Give him the Sealed Scroll — he reveals himself hostile and attacks. Kill him and loot Noel Klares' Ring.
  6. Return the Bag of Femurs and Noel Klares' Ring to Brazzic Durraim. Satisfied with your loyalty, he hands the Bag of Femurs back to you and sends you to deliver it to Buckmarr Gorstagg, the college's alchemist.

Part 2 — Buckmarr's Blade (Level 5-8)

  1. Give the Bag of Femurs to Buckmarr Gorstagg. He hands you a Silver Edged Blade he's testing, and asks you to use it to take the heads of at least 4 wererats posing as smugglers at a camp along the coast of Shaded Dunes (best attempted around level 8, or level 5 with a group).

Part 3 — Turning In the Heads

  1. Hand Buckmarr Gorstagg 4 Wererat Heads together with the Silver Edged Blade. He hands you a Small Brown Vial to deliver to Brazzic, on Exavius's behalf.

Part 4 — The Tunic

  1. Give the Small Brown Vial to Brazzic Durraim. Pleased with your work, he rewards you with the Gold Trimmed Black Tunic, completing the quest, and hints he'll have more work for you later.
